Breaking Dawn

I know I am probably a little late to gush on and on about this movie...but I am anyway. I am sure that most of you have seen Breaking Dawn by now. I saw it when it was first released and then about a month ago, and just again last week. Every time I see the movie it gets even better, if that is even possible? It is my favorite one by far!!!! The soundtrack is amazing too! I thought I would post some images of the wedding, which by the way was better than I imagined. What about Bella's dress...I thought it was perfect! Oh, and an interesting side note....the song "A thousand years" by Christina Perri was written by her especially for "Edward and Bella". She was so blown away by the books and movies, she wrote a love song for them and had it forwarded to Stephine Meyer, who then put it on the soundtrack. Pretty cool, right?

I just finished an Alice in Wonderland painting. I have been wanting to paint one for a while. I think I kinda lost my mojo. Sometimes I seem to get stuck and need a break. I am refreshed and I have a few ideas for some paintings that I will be doing soon.

I love mermaids, the sea, the sand, seashells, the smell of the ocean. We had a such a beautiful weekend, I wanted to be at the beach so bad, so instead I painted a mermaid.

Art for my wall

Hi there

I know it has been along time since I've blogged.... I have been working on a room in my house...it still has a ways to go but I thought I would share half of the room right now. This room is where we have our family computer, we also are going to use it as another T.V. room. I found a couch and two chairs on craig's list for $100.00 they are from Ikea and were in perfect condition. I changed out the slip covers to white. My sister-law gave me the hutch which was maple and we had it painted white. I am not sure about the lamp? I found it @ Target, but the green is not the shade I am going for. I think I need a yellow or white base? I really wanted some cool art, I could not find anything I really liked, so I decided to make my own pictures, since I am not an artist by trade I thought they came out pretty good. Here is one half of the room...I will post more when it's done

My Grandmother was a doll collector and had two + rooms in her house just for her dolls...as a kid I would sit in the rooms for hours. I inherited some of her dolls and have my own collection, mostly Madame Alexander dolls. I am wishing for a Blythe doll!!! My husband thinks I am crazy. They are the cutest, loveliest dolls ever! Seriously, I want them all...the only problem, they are crazy expensive!!! Here are a few pictures...

At long last! I can finally upload pictures to my computer (yea) !! I am really excited, two of my favorite artists are doing new on-line classes. Suzi Blu is doing a mermaid class which sounds like so much fun and she is teaching a lot of new techniques . Wyanne is doing a new class too! I have to decide which one to do first. They are both really great artists and have some great classes..

Lately I have been spending a lot of time looking at design blogs.

There are so many wonderful ones out there, I could spend(and sometimes I do) all day looking at them all. One of my favorites is Life in the fun lane. Wow, that girl has skills! Anyway,I had this old dresser in our garage that we (hubby & me) picked up a while ago. I really wanted to do a fun color, so I looked through many magazines and countless blogs, and decided on yellow. I regret that I do not have any before pictures, which is a bummer because it was pretty hideous! I really deliberated over what knobs to use...I went to Anthropology at least 5 times and I still have one knob in mind...but for know this is it!

I went to see the movie Bright Star, about poet John Keats. He falls in love with the girl next door Fanny Brawne. The movie was so beautiful! I am a sucker for English movies anyway, but this was not just a beautiful story, it was visually breathtaking!

I was a little disappointed that Abby Cornish was not nominated for an Oscar!

Do yourself a favor, see this movie!

Wow, It has been a long time since I've blogged!!! Like a lot of people I am getting ready for the holidays, and it seems like time is always getting away from me!

We recently had some family photos taken, it had been about 4 years since our last. My sister-in-laws friend did them. She was a sport we had all of my husbands family, it was no small feat! She really did a super job! Thanks Katie!

Hello, again it seems like forever since I've blogged and I guess it has been!! Well summer is almost on it's way out and fall is just around the corner, although here in Temecula is feels like summer is just beginning!

I have had a rough couple months, but things are getting better.

I signed up for the goddess and the poet workshop with the very talented Suzi Blu, and finished another mermaid painting for my daughter who turned 9.

I just finished reading the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer!!!!!!!!
WOW!
I was at a yard sale a few weeks back and saw the first book, twilight. I thought hey it's only a quarter, why not read it and find out what the hype was about.
Was I surprised! Okay, so that was the first book, which once I started reading I literally could not put down! I finished the first one in a day, then I thought oh no, I can't just stop here, I have to find out what happens next..............I started asking my 14 year old son if his friends (girls he knows) have any of these books I could borrow. He looked at me and said "what, not you too mom, all the girls at my school talk about is Edward and Bella". I must admit I was a bit embarrassed, here I am a 42 year old thinking about vampires, have I lost my mind? I got over that pretty quickly as soon as I started the next book. So needless to say I am a huge fan and I am proud to admit it! So I say go on give them a read, I think you will be a huge fan too!

A Must See Film!

My friend and I just went to see the movie Australia with Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman. It was a fabulous movie! I laughed and cried...well, cried a lot! They just don't make movies like this anymore, or maybe I should say enough! I love all those English movies. This is a real treat, oh did I say that Hugh Jackman is just.....well, Yummy! Okay I said it! Do yourself a favor and see it with a girlfriend, I just don't think the men would really appreciate it as much! I can't wait to buy it, so I can watch it over and over....yea, it's that good, really!

Make a wish

I just finished another painting...it's called "make a wish". Usually I make a paper doll on water color paper and then collage it onto my painting. This time I painted right on the canvas. I wanted to try and define the faces that I make more, it's not so easy on watercolor paper. Anyway, I had fun. I am trying new things...spreading my wings...just a bit. We are leaving tomorrow to the desert to go riding for new years. My son got a newer dirt bike (hopefully we will see him smile) ! Teenagers......wow need I say more? I love my son, he is a good kid, but sometimes uurrrr.

Anyway, here's to a new year full of peace, joy and laughter and losing weight! I'm sorry I had to sneak that in. Really I need to make this the year of getting healthier! Okay, enough said.

Well Christmas is over......every year it seems to come and go so fast. This year was a hard year for us , just like so many people. Even though this is my favorite time of year, I am glad to see this year come to a close. I had a great time with friends and family, I am just ready for a new year. I have a hopeful heart that this year will be better! I pray that this year will be filled with hope and love and kindness!

An amazing book!!

I just finished reading The Shack. It's been a long time since I've been so moved by a book! Last year I finally read and finished the Left behind series...Wow those were truly amazing...it took me a long time to want to pick up a book and read after I finished that series. I wanted to remember them and soak in the experience of it... I guess I really felt something deep inside that I just wanted to keep with me (does that make any sense?). Well this book has done that to me again. I want to tell every single person I meet to read this, you can't read it and have it not affect you in some way. It is just so special. Make sure you have a box of tissue handy.

Good morning,
I just got back from a morning walk with my dear friend, as we were walking we started talking about the upcoming election and what a scary time this is for our children, for us as citizens and our country! I feel like the very principals this country was founded on are in real jeopardy. I know am being bold here , I just feel so convicted to say something. So many people seem to have their eyes closed as to what will happen if Obama is elected! I know that it is all in God's hands and that we just have to trust in him.......having said that we still need to come together now more than ever and pray! As Always thanks for visiting!

My daughter has been asking me to paint a picture for her, "just like Hilary's". I told her that I couldn't make it just like hers, because I made just for Hilary. I told Zoe I would make one "just for her" she said okay with just one request to please make her doll with the same pose as Hilary's, so I agreed. So here is the painting for Zoe.

I woke up to a grey and cool morning, with the anticipation of rain. We do not get a lot of rain here in Murrieta, Ca. We get instead a lot of heat and then more heat and then just when you think it's fall we should start to cool down no, instead we heat up....but not today! So we are supposed to have a couple of cool days and then heat up again by the beginning of the week. So today I am going to enjoy every minute of this cool day! I think I might even do some baking, how do oatmeal chocolate chip cookies sound and maybe some pumpkin bread? Did I mention that Fall is my favorite season? I know that might sound strange coming from a California girl born and raised, but yes it's true...I long for the four seasons one of my favorite places this time of year is Utah. Well I could go on and on.... Have a wonderful day I know I will and here are some pictures of fall just to get you in the mood for fall.

It's Grey's Anatomy night!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited, tonight is the new season of Grey's Anatomy! I hope that Merideth and Derek a.k.a Dr. McDreamy work it out, but as television drama would have it I'm sure there will be a snag and we will have to wait the whole season for them to get it right. Oh well, it will be fun to watch. Are you a Grey's fan too?

I also finished another painting, I have all these paper dolls I've made and no canvases for them so I need to get busy and paint......!!!!!! Well here is my latest "Girl on Swing" Wow, I really got creative with that title. I hope you all have a blessed day ! Thanks for stopping by.

Hello there,
Well I am finally finished with a painting I am doing for my niece! Yea! I am so excited to give it to her. She is 11 and she is redoing her room, so I hope that she likes it. She asked me for two, so I am going to start on the other one this week. This painting is a 24x24, I have not painted anything that big before. I must say that I really enjoyed making this. I am giving it to her on the 13th(next weekend) I will let you know what she thinks!

Well my kids are finally back in school. It was a wonderful summer. This is first time I have spent a summer with my kids in a long time so I did enjoy it. I must say that it is nice having everyone back on a schedule. So with the free time I do have I finished a painting and made a few tags. Here are a couple pictures of the tags I made. Happy 8th Birthday Zoe!

Wow, it's been a long time since I have blogged. It's been kind of crazy around here. My daughter Zoe turned 8 August 5th. We had a small party for her over the weekend and then my mom took Zoe and me to the American Girl in L.A. Can I just say I don't know who had more fun, that place is AMAZING!!! We had lunch in the cafe. The food was delicious. When we were done eating we took Zoe's doll "Nicki" to have her hair done. They have a doll salon. Can you believe that ....oh and they also have a doll hospital, in case your doll needs repair. I never wanted to leave, I know that Zoe will remember it forever. Well I guess I had better get creating, so I can share with you. Have a wonderful Week!

This is my latest creation.

So I just came across of a flyer of my old house (when we sold it)...and it struck me how cute it was and that I never really apprieciated it. I had worked so hard decorating it...going to yard sales and barn sales buying and painting furniture, sewing slip covers. I never took the time to reflect and just be in the moment. Okay so I am rambling.

So now I've been in my current house for 3 years, My style has changed alot. I have one room that we like to call the "ballet studio" which is just an empty room with wood floors. I find that I am getting that ichy feeling of wanting to decorate ...........so this is my dream room...maybe one day! Not sure what site I got this from but I do like all the colors it's very whimsical. I would say that my style isn't shabby chic it's more or less a combination of styles.

OMG, did it really take me that long ? Yes it did!!!! What, you may ask. Well, I finally listed a few of my paintings on Etsy. I am such a procrastinator, but I finally did it, so please check it out. I just finished another painting she is an 8x10 and I really enjoyed working on her.

On another note, does anyone watch "so you think you can dance"? I just love the show...what about Katee and Will last night. They danced to David Arculeta's Imagine. It was absolutely amazing!! If you have not seen it yet you can probably you tube it, it's worth a look!

I am working on another painting, I will post when I'm done. Bye for now.

Hi everyone,

Well I have been working on a couple pieces. I am going to put them on Esty in the next few days. Boy, since being home I just get doing so many things and all of a sudden the day is over and I haven't worked on anything. On a different note I just recently got an Ipod ( wow they are so cool!)...and so I downloaded some of my favs from the 80's....I have been a dancing fool!!LOL Boy, those were the days...do I sound old? Okay so I loved Wham! (the secrets out)

I just had to share the pictures of my new Nephew! The first picture is my daughter Zoe holding Justin. He is so tiny and precious! Don't you just love the little sounds they make? My daughter always asks why don't we have another baby........well I tell her my baby making days are over!!

Anyway, we are going away to the beach for the holiday, so when I get back I will put my crafty hat on and get busy and share some of the stuff I am making. Happy 4th of July everyone!! Please be safe!!!

Well Hello again. Here is one of the projects I am working on. She is almost done, I want to add beeswax to the painting.....and that's where my problem is. I tried it on one painting and it came out okay, but I can't seem to get the consistency right. Maybe some nice person could help me figure it out? Anyone? I would be so thankful!!!! On a another note my brother and his wife are visiting. They just had a baby May 7th. Little Justin Thomas who is adorable, I just want to eat him up! I will take some pictures and share them because of course being a proud auntie I think his is the most beautiful little boy! Well have a wonderful day!

Girls day out! My girlfriend got me going so excited!

Hi There, first I have to thank my dearest friend Denise of Hopetreestudio for helping me! She made my banner and is such a wonderful friend and talented artist! She has been blogging for quite some time. Since being laid off of work I have been looking at blogs all day everyday. I have been bugging Denise to help me get started, and well, HERE I AM!!!
