Happy New Year 2009!

We are leaving tomorrow to the desert to go riding for new years. My son got a newer dirt bike (hopefully we will see him smile) ! Teenagers......wow need I say more? I love my son, he is a good kid, but sometimes uurrrr.

Anyway, here's to a new year full of peace, joy and laughter and losing weight! I'm sorry I had to sneak that in. Really I need to make this the year of getting healthier! Okay, enough said.

Well Christmas is over......every year it seems to come and go so fast. This year was a hard year for us , just like so many people. Even though this is my favorite time of year, I am glad to see this year come to a close. I had a great time with friends and family, I am just ready for a new year. I have a hopeful heart that this year will be better! I pray that this year will be filled with hope and love and kindness!

For Christmas my Niece Hilary asked me to paint her a picture, well I was pleased beyond words to do this! I must say it is one of my favorites. Here is the painting and one of her after she opened it.

Christmas Baking

Baking is one of my favorite things to do around the Holidays! I always bake the same cookies, which is fine. I really like the cookies I bake however, I always say that I want to try a new cookie and never do. This year I am going to try the magic cookie bar. Hope it comes out good!

An amazing book!!

I just finished reading The Shack. It's been a long time since I've been so moved by a book! Last year I finally read and finished the Left behind series...Wow those were truly amazing...it took me a long time to want to pick up a book and read after I finished that series. I wanted to remember them and soak in the experience of it... I guess I really felt something deep inside that I just wanted to keep with me (does that make any sense?). Well this book has done that to me again. I want to tell every single person I meet to read this, you can't read it and have it not affect you in some way. It is just so special. Make sure you have a box of tissue handy.
